{Beauty – Hair} The Hair Product You NEED For Less Than $7

The Hair Product You Need for Less than $7

What is THE hair product you NEED?

Texturing spray.

If this product has been in your life for ages, you’re ahead of the game. Check out my two recommendations and head to the comments to tell me your thoughts and your favorite product.

If you’ve never heard of it before you’re not alone. If you’re like me and your hair styling skills are close to non-existent, you probably also know next to nothing about styling products

So what is texturing spray and why do I need it?

Allure has a comprehensive explanation of the product and why you need it in your life:

It functions as a dry shampoo, volumizer, and texturizer, so you can spray it from roots to ends, work it through with your fingers, and you’re done. It blots away oil for a matte, nongreasy finish and also contains UV filters to help shield hair from the dulling effects of sun damage.

Say what?

It blots away oil?

It protects it from the sun? It gives you texture and volume?

Awesome.

And because here at Prudent with My Pennies we’re all about watching those pennies I have scouted the internet for highly recommended texturing sprays that are on a budget. I found two with good reviews and at an amazing price point. Budget Friendly + Effective Product (that can get me out of the ponytail rut) = A Happy Girl.

Now let’s talk about those two budget friendly texturing sprays I’ve found.

Product #1

Garnier Fructis De-Constructed Texture Tease Dry Touch Finishing Spray From $3.99

Garnier Texture Tease Dry Touch Finishing Spray

Cosmopolitan gives this super budget friendly product high marks:

Anytime you need to build texture fast (whether you’re braiding your hair or just want that bedhead look), have this product at the ready. It will give your hair grip without leaving it feeling sticky and looking like a rat’s nest.

Allure is also a fan. Texture Tease is also a Best of Beauty winner – twice.

A quick mist of it instantly creates that perfectly imperfect undone texture on curling iron waves or a limp ponytail.

Garnier Fructis’ Texture Tease is widely available, you can pick it up at most stores and drugstores. Even better, you can get it delivered to your front door with Amazon for only $3.99.

Product #2

Not Your Mother’s Double Take Dry Finish Texture Spray From $6

Not Your MOther's Double Take Dry Finish Texture Spray

This texture spray is another Allure winner:

For an under-$10 drugstore pick, this product seriously delivers. It’s spiked with quinoa (yes, quinoa), keratin, and aloe, so it hydrates and conditions hair while also creating a grippable, slightly gritty finish. While it’s excellent for creating a tousled, undone effect on curling-iron waves, it’s also ideal for use before braiding.

Popsugar also has lots of praise for this bargain spray:

If you like tousled curls, finish off your style with Not Your Mother’s Double Take Dry Finish Texture Spray ($6). The formula is infused with quinoa, keratin, silk, and aloe leaf juice — all ingredients that are known to maintain strong hair. We like this pick because it gives your hair movement, too.
